You are creative.
Perhaps it’s been dormant for a time, but small steps can get you back on the path to a simple, creative practice.
Here, there’s room for growth.
Instead of feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and exhausted, you can feel connected, present, and calm.
In 2012, I decided margin and simplicity would become prioritized in my life and the life of my family.
All these years I’ve learned to simplify our stuff and our schedules, but calming my mind was, and still is at times, much harder.
Especially in seasons of transition, struggles with mental health, parenting, and times of grief.
There are plenty of methods, but my chosen path became painting.
It was quite the journey.
I never considered myself an artist, even though I’ve created things my entire life. You can find the remnants in our art supply stash of my past self dabbling in many things like weaving, quilting, embroidery, art journals, photography, and more.
But never painting. It felt out of reach.
In January 2019, my friend Amy invited me over to explore alcohol inks. The fluidity and colors captivated me immediately. I went and bought my own supplies, but soon realized I didn’t enjoy having to experiment with a ventilator mask on and the windows open.
Watercolors seemed like the next right step. They quickly became a favorite medium, but I wanted to explore more. That led to acrylics and a course all about finding your joy in painting. For the first time, I felt complete freedom to express myself and process my emotions. Eventually, I wanted to learn how to paint well.
That led to a deeply abundant course that gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to call myself an artist.
Nature is endlessly inspiring.
And full of contrasts…
Loud and quiet.
Stormy and calm.
Bright and earthy.
Peaceful and energetic.
Rooted and wild.
Light and dark.
Smooth and textured.
It quiets my soul when I realize if nature is full of opposites, it’s no wonder I am too. I can settle into who I am, full of layers and all. That’s what comes out in my paintings.
Each mark is an expression of these contrasts inside me. With nature as my inspiration, I complete paintings that are mostly abstract with hints of fresh flowers, expansive skies, or endless seas.
Hello! I’m Jen Fletcher.

Creativity is a process of self-discovery. It’s a quiet adventure that abundantly offers mindfulness, presence, and curiosity. You can explore every facet of yourself with complete abandon and authenticity while sending beauty into the world with every mark.
It’s rooted inside of you.
I’m honored to share my art with you. I want it to feel as though you’re connected to it in a way you can’t explain. Every brushstroke and mark is filled with emotion and depth, which leads to fascinating paintings that breathe life into your home and grace your walls with beauty and wonder.
Layers, depth, and texture
Each painting begins with wild, expressive marks in charcoal, pencil, and paint. I’m not thinking at all, just playing with color and adding layers.
Nature items are used throughout the process to add interesting marks that are unique every time.
As the painting moves along, I start to think about composition. I want you to have a painting on the wall that delights you when you walk into the room, but also captivates you as you stand close and notice the details.
I believe art needs to be accessible to everyone. That’s why I offer fine art prints that capture the detail and texture of the original painting.
Prints also give you the opportunity to find the exact size you need for your home.
